Capital Guidance retained Perkins Eastman and strategic alliance partner Belluschi Consulting to provide master planning and schematic design for a mixed-use development in Muscat-one of the oldest cities in the Middle East. The area has seen an explosion of infrastructure development and urbanization in recent decades. It is the capital of and most populous city in the Sultanate of Oman, which is known for its popular tourist attractions. Muscat is home to more major shopping centers-and the single largest one-than any other city in Oman.
The waterfront destination features 3,800 sm (41,000 sf) of retail, a luxury 250-key hotel, 200-seat restaurant, outdoor performance area, marina, and pedestrian walkways. The resort-like development is nestled at the foot of the mountains of AI Hajr Al Sharyi and overlooks the Gulf of Oman. The design honors the diverse history and rich culture of Oman while bringing a modern spirit to the Sultanate.
